Staff Software Engineer - Databases SRE | Germany | Remote

Overview

Staff Software Engineer in SRE for Grafana Cloud database reliability, embedded with Mimir, Loki, and Tempo squads.

What you'll do

• Partner closely with product engineering squads using an embedded model.
• Own production reliability for high-SLA and complex customer environments.
• Design and implement automation to scale reliability practices.
• Ensure customers meet SLO targets and define/evolve per-tenant SLOs and reliability models.
• Proactively reduce SLO burn to prevent repeat incidents.
• Serve as a primary escalation point and handle on-call for relevant incidents, including incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Improve alert quality and reduce noisy escalations.

What you'll need

• At least 8+ years of engineering experience.
• At least 4+ years in SRE/CRE/production engineering.
• Strong Kubernetes experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tooling (e.g., Helm, Terraform, Jsonnet).
• Experience designing and implementing SLOs.
• Experience operating multi-tenant systems in production.
• Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java).
