Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise Apps

Overview

Staff Software Engineer on the Agent Engagement and Experience team within Coinbase’s Enterprise Applications and Architecture (EAA) org, building customer experience platforms for CX agent customer service and compliance workflows.

What you'll do

• Architect and deliver distributed backend systems and foundational infrastructure components.
• Lead technical direction by defining strategic roadmaps and translating ambiguous problems into architectural plans.
• Build and scale high-reliability services for CX agent workflows and compliance processes.
• Mentor engineers on design techniques, coding standards, testing practices, and operational best practices.
• Partner cross-functionally across multiple time zones to identify platform improvements and communicate technical concepts.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to architect and deliver distributed systems that solve ambiguous, high-impact problems.
• Deep proficiency in Go (Golang) and experience building scalable, high-traffic backend services.
• Experience with API development (gRPC, GraphQL), event-driven architectures (Kafka, MQ), and SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines (BuildKite or similar).
• Track record of leading technical projects end-to-end and mentoring engineers.

Details

• Work mode: Remote - USA.
• Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus): $218,025–$256,500 USD.
• Application limit: maximum of 3 applications within a 6-month period.
