Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack

Overview

Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack (Frontend Heavy) for AlphaSense’s Content Experience Team, building scalable, performant, reliable software that powers the platform.

What you'll do

• Design and build high-quality, performant, scalable software systems across backend and frontend.
• Own technical architecture and reliability of backend services alongside frontend microapps.
• Lead technical design discussions and deliver maintainable solutions after clarifying requirements.
• Take full-stack ownership across backend APIs (Python/Java) and frontend integration.
• Apply DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native best practices to improve delivery efficiency.
• Mentor and coach engineers to raise the technical bar.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies and build AI-assisted intelligent features using LLMs/agents/AI frameworks.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of software development experience building scalable, high-performing, robust applications.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and full-stack development.
• Experience with modern web frameworks including React, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
• At least one backend language/framework such as Node.js, Java, or Python.
• Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures/algorithms and distributed systems.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, or Solr/Vespa/Lucene.
• Cloud-native development experience with AWS or GCP.
