Substation Engineer - Physical (Remote - U.S.)

Overview

Substation Engineer specializing in physical substation design for utility-scale power delivery projects, working remotely for the U.S.

What you'll do

• Perform specific and limited portions of broader engineering assignments.
• Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures.
• Complete detailed or routine engineering work involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
• Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered.
• Identify discrepancies in results.
• Carry out work in accordance with an agreed budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in high voltage substation design.
• EIT Certification.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Bentley Microstation.

Nice to have

• Professional engineering license or ability to obtain one within 2 years of hire.
• Knowledge of construction practices and constructability.
• Experience with proposal writing and project estimating.
• Working knowledge of scheduling and project controls processes.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IEEE, ANSI, NESC, NEC).
