System Operations Engineer

Overview

Support the operational excellence, compliance, monitoring, transitions, and lifecycle management of business systems and applications in a regulated environment.

What you'll do

• Maintain compliance documentation and monitor service-level agreements, access, and identities.
• Coordinate backup, recovery, disaster-recovery testing, patching, and software management.
• Troubleshoot incidents and perform small software configuration enhancements.
• Manage incident, problem, change, demand, and system-archiving activities.
• Coordinate system onboarding, knowledge transfer, and transition activities to the EOC.
• Work with infrastructure teams on remediation, migration, replacement, and decommissioning.
• Communicate system transition results to the EOC reporting team.

What you'll need

• At least 2 years of experience as a System Lead or in a similar role.
• Experience supporting hardware, software, networking, databases, servers, and cloud systems.
• Understanding of IT operational excellence and an ITIL v3.0-or-higher Fundamentals certification.
• Working knowledge of AWS pipeline development, including Glue, PySpark, Lambda, S3, SNS, Step Functions, and Airflow.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake and dbt for data transformation and modelling.
• Advanced Python and SQL skills.
• Excellent English communication, organisation, teamwork, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SnapLogic, AWS CDK or CloudFormation, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, and AWS CodeBuild.
• Experience in regulated and multicultural environments.
• German, Japanese, Mandarin, or Spanish language skills.
