Tax Manager - Real Estate PortCo or Developers

Overview

Manage tax compliance, consulting, review, and client service activities for real estate funds, partnerships, REITs, and related entities.

What you'll do

• Review and analyze federal, state, and local tax returns and filings.
• Review quarterly and annual REIT testing compliance.
• Manage client, internal, and statutory deadlines.
• Advise clients on tax planning, research, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions activities.
• Coordinate tax client service for assigned clients.
• Mentor, coach, train, and develop staff members.
• Support business development and identify tax issues for existing clients.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of business taxation experience in the real estate industry.
• Experience at a Big 4 or large national, regional, or local accounting firm.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA or EA credential.
• Prior tax compliance and consulting experience serving real estate clients.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with clients and onshore teams to support tax service requirements.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of tax code and technical tax preparation and compliance.
• Experience with ASC 740 income tax accounting.
• International tax experience.
• Real estate debt experience.

• Location: Kolkata.
• Some travel may be required.
