Tax Supervisor 1 - Federal Credits and Incentives

Overview

Support Credits, Incentives, and Methods engagements involving SR&ED tax credits, federal incentives, accounting methods, and tangible property services. The role combines tax research, client communication, project coordination, and technical analysis.

What you'll do

• Develop expertise in clients’ businesses and assigned tax areas.
• Research and write tax advice, opinion, and position memorandums.
• Maintain regular contact with client operations, finance, accounting, and engineering teams.
• Manage multiple projects involving technical discussions, computations, analysis, data gathering, and resource coordination.
• Support CIM engagements related to accounting methods, federal credits and incentives, and tangible property services.
• Track industry regulation changes and maintain professional competency.

What you'll need

• 1–2+ years of experience claiming SR&ED tax credits and supporting claim defense.
• Undergraduate university degree in accounting, tax, corporate finance, business, or an equivalent field.
• Proficiency with TaxPrep/iFirm and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong client service, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Nice to have

• MPAcc or equivalent, and/or CPA designation.
• Experience with ProFile, TaxCycle, CanTax, or other tax preparation software.
• Experience claiming Alberta Innovation Employment Grant or Quebec R&D credits.
• Experience with or interest in Canadian federal and provincial tax incentive programs.
