Team Lead - General Accounting

Overview

Team Lead for General Accounting at ABB, managing complete, accurate and timely accounting activities for an assigned area within the General Accounting team, including the month-end close and financial reporting. Reports to the Accounting & Reporting Manager - General Accounting.

What you'll do

• Manage complete, accurate and timely completion of accounting activities for the assigned area (e.g., reporting, consolidation).
• Ensure daily compliance with internal guidelines, procedures and external regulatory requirements.
• Oversee, review and/or support the month-end close process, including account reconciliation, preparation of journal entries and balance sheet review.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements in the appropriate format for timely filings with regulatory agencies.
• Manage Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICoFR) compliance for specific areas (e.g., record-to-report, order-to-cash) to ensure processes and controls are designed effectively and address financial reporting.
• Analyze accounts, identify discrepancies or anomalies for correction, and act as an escalation contact for resolving accounting transactions and reporting questions.
• Ensure transparency in financial reporting and disclosures.
• Manage the team and delivery.

What you'll need

• Sound technical knowledge of US GAAP.
• Sound technical knowledge of SAP FICO module.
• Sound technical knowledge of HFM (Oracle).
• Sound technical knowledge of MS Office.
• Sound technical knowledge of SAP GR/MR.
• Demonstrated experience managing teams.
• B.Com or M.Com from a reputed college, or semi-qualified CA, or CA.
• Demonstrated experience in finance transformation programs such as SAP implementation.
• Ability to assess challenges thoughtfully and resolve them effectively.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to build positive working relationships.
• Demonstrated skill in managing complex situations and implementing process consistency.
• Willingness to work shifts and respond to changing business needs.
• Focus on continuous learning and process enhancement.
