Overview
User Experience Engineer III to design and build web and experience orchestration for Expedia Group’s Unified Payment Module within Expedia Global Payments.
What you'll do
- Design and build rich, performant, accessible web experiences using React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Implement and evolve an experience orchestration layer using GraphQL and Kotlin in a BFF architecture.
- Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to translate requirements into UI flows, APIs, data models, and low-level designs.
- Optimize front-end and BFF services for reliability, performance, observability, and security, including error handling and graceful degradation.
- Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve user experience, personalization, or developer workflows.
- Contribute to code quality through code reviews, testing strategies, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Hands-on experience building user interfaces with React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Hands-on development with Node.js and modern web UI technologies.
- Experience owning and delivering features spanning front-end and an experience/BFF layer using GraphQL and Kotlin.
- Ability to design and implement low-level designs, APIs, and data models connecting UI clients to backend services.
- Familiarity with AI-driven systems and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products.
