Validation Engineer

Overview

Participate in embedded firmware and system software validation for Mark VIe platforms, working with a cross-functional team to improve platforms for power generation applications.

What you'll do

• Own coordination, integration, validation, including the validation environment, and debugging of system software.
• Develop and maintain system-level setups for product validation.
• Validate integrated firmware and system software against the architectural goals of the product.
• Create validation plans, develop, automate and execute test cases, and debug and triage observed or reported failures.
• Perform debugging and troubleshooting to become a point of contact for platform-level issues.
• Ensure systematic closure of issues for subsequent releases.
• Collaborate with architecture, firmware, program management and component development teams on day-to-day operations and long-term roadmap improvements by feeding back key learnings.
• Explore and deploy methods to improve test coverage, release and test automation, and firmware and software release efficiency.
• Collaborate with technicians to maintain and improve the validation setup.
• Work with the sourcing team to procure hardware and software required for execution.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of experience in testing and test script development.
• Significant knowledge in embedded testing.
• Knowledge of the bug life cycle.
• Hands-on experience using instruments such as function generators and DMMs.
• Test execution and development experience in Visual Studio, C#, SpecFlow and Gherkin.
• Ability to analyze failures in scripts.

Nice to have

• Visual Studio TFS tool knowledge.
• Experience with Control Systems validation for Mark VIe.
• Experience working with industry protocols such as MODBUS, Profibus, Profinet, FF, CAN and Ethernet.
• Ability to work as a self-starter with multifunctional teams including Hardware, Software and System Test.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in cross-functional and global teams.
