Video News Producer

Overview

Newsweek is hiring a Video News Producer to create and optimize platform-ready video and visual assets for breaking, developing, and major news stories.

What you'll do

• Identify, create, or source high-impact visuals (video, stills, graphics, data visuals) for editorial value.
• Monitor news developments and video feeds, then quickly produce and publish relevant breaking/trending video.
• Ensure assets are ingested, labeled, and positioned effectively in the CMS and across platforms.
• Tailor video for each platform (CMS, social, YouTube) by selecting pacing/format/length.
• Collaborate with newsdesk, social, and editorial teams and report to maintain continuity across shifts.
• Maintain organized workflows and provide detailed handover notes between producers and shifts.

What you'll need

• 2-5 years of experience producing video content in a fast-paced newsroom or digital media environment.
• Strong editorial judgment about how visuals enhance journalism.
• Interest in US news is required.
• Ability to respond quickly and accurately to breaking news.
• Proven ability to optimize content for different platforms.
• Familiarity with video editing tools and newsroom CMS platforms.
• Openness to experimenting with new tools, including AI-driven workflows.

• Remote position in India with a scheduled shift of 10:30 pm IST - 6:30 am IST, five days a week.
