Analyst Accounting

Overview

Analyst, Accounting role within the GFA Pune team, performing accounting activities with a focus on RTR (Record to Report) for daily operations of customers in EMEA and North America, and supporting the Plant Controller in maintaining an adequate internal controls environment.

What you'll do

• Perform accounting activities with due focus on RTR for daily operations of customers in EMEA and North America from GFA, Pune.
• Work with the transitions team and understand process workflows, decipher process interconnects and impacts.
• Support the Plant Controller in ensuring an adequate internal controls environment throughout the plant, including deployment of comprehensive account reconciliation and balance sheet review processes.
• Ensure financial accounting activities comply with generally accepted accounting principles, local statutory requirements and Eaton Corporate policies and practice.
• Manage end-to-end accounting across financial processes (RTR, OTC and PTP), ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close.
• Provide business partnership to all areas of the plant on functional expertise and cross-functional support, giving guidance and education to plant personnel to achieve financial objectives.
• Implement and deploy actions to ensure an adequate internal control environment and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and applicable statutory requirements.
• Actively lead compliance for financial activities and safeguarding of plant assets in line with corporate policies and procedures.
• Drive and leverage systems and tools to automate processes and drive process improvements, using quality tools such as BPI and EBE.
• Regularly review existing controls and govern standard processes, ensuring alignment to globally defined SSC processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and work closely with the Team Leader - Accounting to achieve goals and timelines, proactively managing issues.
• Demonstrate a practical approach to continuous improvement of processes.
• Develop customer-facing KPIs, hold periodic performance meetings and closely monitor to close out open issues.
• Ensure service delivery is managed in accordance with agreed processes and procedures, including service level management and reporting.
• Maintain appropriate review documentation and audit trails.

What you'll need

• Accounting Degree (CA), MBA-Finance or B.com. (Accounting) with required experience.
• 3-5 years of total experience.
• End-to-end process knowledge for GL/FA and good understanding of OTC and PTP encompassing overall accounting.
• Good experience of Oracle and SAP ERP.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX.
• Knowledge of direct and indirect tax.
• Excellent analytical, written and oral English communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across boundaries and business lines.
• Excellent MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Excel Macro and Power BI.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity regarding changes in regulations and external requirements.
• Systematic process orientation, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
