Application Support Engineer

Overview

As an Application Support Engineer, act as a software detective by investigating and resolving issues across multiple components of critical business systems. Monitor, maintain and optimize SAP applications and technical infrastructure to support stable operations.

What you'll do

• Provide SAP architecture, SAP HANA deployment, Basis administration and security, OS/DB migration, installation, upgrades, support package application and add-on component installation.
• Deliver SAP cloud operations in SAP HEC ECS, including SAP Cloud Connector, BTP, CTS+, IAS/IPS, Ariba, SAC, Datasphere and SuccessFactors.
• Design and set up complete SAP system landscapes.
• Configure SLT for real-time replication and resolve data replication issues.
• Implement private and public cloud-based SAP solutions.
• Implement SSO and SAML.
• Implement SAP Fiori for S/4HANA, including installation and setup of a Central Gateway.
• Perform SAP performance tuning at system, database and OS levels and troubleshoot authorization issues.
• Work with SAP components including HANA S/4, Suite on HANA, EWM, MDG, GRC, ERP and other SAP solutions.
• Contribute to system landscape strategy, including design, optimization and realization of HA and DR solutions.
• Conduct DR drills and failover activities to support business continuity.
• Configure SOAMANAGER services for web service enablement and integration scenarios.
• Perform client administration, including local and remote client copies, export and import client copies, client creation, client deletion and client maintenance.
• Configure, upgrade and support OpenText, including archiving support.
• Manage the SAP solution lifecycle from requirements gathering through development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Manage changes and releases to SAP systems while maintaining stability and minimizing disruption.
• Monitor and optimize SAP business processes, identify improvement areas and ensure compliance.
• Monitor SAP technical infrastructure, including servers, databases and interfaces.
• Troubleshoot SAP technical issues and analyze and improve system performance.
• Perform Basis administrator configuration activities for business and support team enhancement requests.
• Implement SAP HANA landscapes with 5-tier system replication, including HANA backup, restore, upgrades and maintenance.
• Enhance and support HA and DR solutions.
• Manage transport operations and troubleshoot transport issues.
• Maintain architecture documentation and runbooks for infrastructure and networking components.
• Maintain SAP data replication and transformation landscapes.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues involving SMTP, RFC, HTTP and SSL certificates.
• Support audit activities and compliance with security and governance standards.
• Support go-live and post-go-live operations.

What you'll need

• Minimum 7.5 year(s) of experience.
• 10+ years of experience with Basis Configuration/administration.
• 15 years full time education.
• SAP Basis Administration skills.
• Proficiency in SAP technical concepts and technologies.
• Expertise in SAP system installation, configuration, upgrades including SPS/EHP, and patching activities.
• Strong experience in SAP HANA administration, including installation, upgrades, backup, recovery and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience in HANA system refresh, database migration and revision upgrades.
• Strong hands-on experience in SAP SaaS solutions.
• Experience managing end-to-end transport landscapes using TMS across DEV, QA and PROD environments.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
