Area Vice President, Sales Engineering

Overview

Lead and scale Sales Engineering in North America, defining SE strategy and representing the region in global product and go-to-market planning.

What you'll do

• Recruit, develop, and lead a team of Sales Engineering Directors in North America.
• Define and drive the technical sales strategy for North America and globally.
• Set Sales Engineering vision, priorities, and operating model aligned to business objectives.
• Partner with Sales leadership to align on revenue targets, go-to-market initiatives, and strategic customer engagement.
• Provide executive support for high-stakes opportunities and guidance through complex sales cycles.
• Implement and scale pre-sales methodologies, tools, and KPIs across North America.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to align execution and messaging.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or similar pre-sales leadership roles.
• Multiple years of SE leadership experience or second-line leadership.
• Proven expertise in enterprise SaaS, cloud, observability, AI, and security solutions.
• Strong executive presence to engage and influence C-level stakeholders.
• Leadership, coaching, and team-building capabilities for scaling high-impact teams.
• Deep understanding of sales methodologies such as MEDDICC and Command of Message (CoM).

• General travel expectation of 25%, with potential to increase to 50% during peak periods.
