Assoc, Professional, P2, Product Support & Services ISG : Job Level - Associate

Overview

Associate role in the Trade Support Group within Product Support & Services, providing operational support to the US Government Securities trading desk, including trade booking, confirmation and post-execution processing.

What you'll do

• Partner closely with Trading and Sales to provide the first level of control and escalation.
• Ensure trade bookings are correctly reflected in trading risk systems and tie out with the Counterparty.
• Check that all trades are booked and confirmed as intended by comparing the trading system against internal MS systems, liaising with Trading, Sales, Brokers or the Counterparty directly.
• Act as intermediary between the trading desk and other areas of the bank, supporting Controllers, Settlements and Confirmations teams to resolve breaks effectively.
• Participate in US Federal Treasury Auctions for government securities in various capacities and book auction trades in MS systems.
• Check inbound client documents for accuracy.
• Define and prioritize project activities and follow up on project progress.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years' relevant experience.
• Understanding of business line and key regulations relevant to coverage area.
• Strong understanding of audit principles, methodology, tools, and processes (e.g., risk assessments, planning, testing, reporting and continuous monitoring).
• Ability to identify and analyze multiple data sources to inform point of view.
• Ability to ask meaningful questions, understand various viewpoints and adapt messaging accordingly.
• Commitment to practicing inclusive behaviors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong working knowledge and proficiency in MS Excel and knowledge of the financial services field.
• Must be able to learn quickly and engage in a number of detailed tasks at once.
• Strong flexibility regarding assigned duties and problem-solving skills; able to work independently.
• Multi-tasking, ability to work under pressure, and eagerness to learn.
• Dynamic self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative as well as a solid team player with strong problem-solving skills.

• Candidate is expected to work extended hours if necessary (until 7PM if needed).
