Overview
Associate role overseeing and executing accounting processes for derivative instruments and supporting investment accounting services for insurance clients.
What you'll do
- Develop knowledge of derivative products including swaps, forwards, futures and options across asset classes.
- Respond to daily client inquiries for information.
- Review the accounting exception management tool daily.
- Prepare, review and distribute investment reporting packages and schedules.
- Complete quarterly and annual NAIC Schedule DB reconciliations and reporting.
- Analyze accounting data and provide commentary on results.
- Support client and department initiatives to improve services, processes and controls.
What you'll need
- At least 6 years of experience in investments or markets.
- A degree in a relevant field.
- Understanding of investment accounting mechanics across equity, fixed income, interest rate and credit derivatives.
- Working knowledge of cleared and bilateral derivative product lifecycles.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests and manage time.
- CA, CPA or similar qualification with technical understanding of general ledgers.
- Understanding of SQL and databases.
Nice to have
- Experience using Microsoft Power BI, Alteryx or RPA tools to transform manual processes.
