Associate Director, Software Engineering

Overview

Lead software engineering for semantic stack solutions, data onboarding tools, and internal knowledge platforms, with responsibility for reliability, performance, scalability, and engineering strategy.

What you'll do

• Define and execute the engineering roadmap for semantic stack solutions.
• Integrate solutions with bespoke and proprietary internal systems.
• Lead the software development lifecycle from requirements through cloud-native deployment automation.
• Conduct research and rapid prototyping with Knowledge Engineering.
• Architect shared capabilities for federated consumption across business units.
• Ensure systems are secure, compliant, auditable, and observable.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• At least 4 years leading Software and Quality Engineering teams.
• Experience with container management technologies in AWS.
• Modern Python development experience, version 3.13 or later.
• Experience with CI/CD and IaC using GitHub Actions and Terraform.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Modern Java development experience, JDK 17 or later.
• Experience with microservice architectures and event-driven systems.
• Experience with RDF, SPARQL, and RDF-based triplestores.
