Associate Information Security Analyst

Overview

Supports the Global Security Operations team by monitoring systems, investigating security events, and responding to incidents under close supervision.

What you'll do

• Monitor systems for known and emerging threats using intrusion detection software.
• Investigate security issues by reviewing logs and data from security feeds.
• Triage security events and identify false positives.
• Support containment, protection, and remediation activities during incidents.
• Configure security systems including SIEM, firewalls, proxy, remote access, and mail gateway tools.
• Follow investigation playbooks, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
• Escalate genuine security incidents to senior analysts.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or relevant related work experience.
• Strong interest in cybersecurity, security operations centers, and incident response.
• Understanding of common attack vectors and the cyber kill chain.
• Familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection tools.
• Knowledge of security best practices and protocols such as encryption and authentication.
• Awareness of cybersecurity threats, trends, and vulnerabilities.

Nice to have

• Relevant cybersecurity certifications.
• Exposure to SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or QRadar.
• Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, ISC2 CC, Cisco CyberOps Associate, or GISF.
• Hands-on experience with home labs, CTFs, bug bounties, Hack The Box, or TryHackMe.
