Automation & Process Improvement Engineer

Overview

Hands-on Automation & Process Improvement Engineer embedded with an operations team to automate workflows, integrate systems, and build AI into real solutions.

What you'll do

• Work with operations to understand how day-to-day work happens and where automation fits best.
• Simplify processes before automating them by removing unnecessary steps.
• Build scripts, scheduled jobs, API connections, and data pipelines to reduce manual work.
• Connect internal tools, APIs, SQL databases, and other platforms so data moves automatically.
• Measure processes before and after changes and keep refining based on results.
• Monitor automations in production, fix issues, and keep workflows running reliably.
• Design AI-enabled steps such as LLM-based classification and agent-style multi-step workflows.

What you'll need

• At least 4 years of automating and improving processes or building integrations/software.
• A track record showing what automation saved (time, errors, or extra capacity).
• Solid Python (or similar) for scripting and building integrations.
• Experience connecting systems via APIs and working with SQL and relational data.
• Hands-on experience building with AI (LLMs or agents in real solutions), not only using it.
• Understanding of common LLM patterns such as prompting and tool/function calling.
• Ability to work closely with non-engineering teams and explain technical concepts clearly.
