Job description

Overview

Provide polymer engineering expertise and material solutions for current and next-generation compressor technologies. Support cross-functional teams through material evaluation, characterization, failure analysis, and technology development.

What you'll do

  • Provide polymer engineering support to engineering, product development, operations, and supplier quality teams.
  • Coordinate external laboratories for material characterization, testing, and analysis.
  • Analyze test results and prepare technical reports.
  • Investigate and characterize unknown polymeric materials.
  • Evaluate and implement new materials and processing technologies.
  • Conduct patent searches and prepare invention disclosures.
  • Present technical findings and project updates to local and global teams.

What you'll need

  • Hold an M.Sc., M.Tech., or Ph.D. in polymer science, polymer engineering, materials science, chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Have strong knowledge of polymer science, organic chemistry, polymer processing, and material characterization.
  • Have hands-on experience with FTIR, DSC, TGA, DMA, GC-MS, SEM, or similar analytical instruments.
  • Have experience in polymer material selection, failure analysis, formulation development, and troubleshooting.
  • Understand manufacturing processes such as injection molding, extrusion, or elastomer processing.
  • Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Work independently and collaborate with cross-functional and global teams.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of thermoforming, ultrasonic or laser welding, heat sealing, or tribological materials.
  • Hands-on experience with Moldflow or similar modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with permeation analyzers, XRF, SEM/EDX, or microscopy.
  • Knowledge of fracture mechanics, degradation mechanisms, or HVACR compressors.

  • Location: Pune, India.
  • Core hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with flexible start and stop times.
