Control & Protection Design Engineer

Overview

Control & Protection Design Engineer responsible for designing low to medium complexity control and protection engineering deliverables, from schematics to risk assessments, for projects up to 400 kV.

What you'll do

• Prepare Control & Protection schematics up to 400 kV based on customer technical specifications.
• Create bills of materials, engineering hour estimates, and technical risk and opportunity assessments.
• Develop Key Line Diagrams, Protection Interface Diagrams, feeder block diagrams, and trip matrix outputs.
• Prepare Control & Relay Panel schematics for new and existing setups, including retrofit projects.
• Produce cable block diagrams, relay ordering information, cable schedules, and wiring/termination/label lists.
• Coordinate with Engineering Leads and interfaces between AC/DC panels, transformers, battery, and secondary designs.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• 4 to 8 years in commissioning and engineering for voltage levels above 66 kV.
• Proficiency with CAD design tools including Zuken E3, AutoCAD, Elecdes, or equivalents.
• Experience in Secondary Control and Protection Schematic Design and Relays/IEDs configuration.
• Knowledge of PCM, Micom, and Digsi IED configuration tools.
• Knowledge of test kits such as Omicron (CMC 356 & 256), Doble, and other test kits.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
