Controls Engineer II, Customer Support

Overview

Controls Engineer II (Customer Support) is a hands-on role supporting BEUMER installed baggage handling and sortation machine control systems.

What you'll do

• Translate customer operational needs into control system solutions for existing installations.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance machine control systems for BEUMER sorters.
• Diagnose and resolve PLC, controls, and system-level issues in live environments.
• Support corrective and preventive maintenance, optimization, and system upgrades.
• Interpret electrical design drawings and specifications for troubleshooting and modifications.
• Participate in system testing, validation, and updates remotely and on-site.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant controls engineering experience, preferably in service/support environments.
• Advanced machine control concepts and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Strong PLC programming knowledge, especially Siemens (TIA Portal).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and system documentation.
• Ability to use computer-based tools for diagnostics, programming, and service tracking.
• Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites up to 25%.
