Cost Analyst - BIW Mechanism

Overview

Cost Analyst role in the BIW Mechanism commodity, responsible for controlling part costs, optimizing technical specifications and maintaining the commodity's techno-economic costing database.

What you'll do

• Cost and report mechanisms (window regulator, wiping, washing, hinge) at each project milestone (bottom costing, RFQ, COST, F4, IP/PB).
• Follow the costing guidelines and reference data, and support updates to the CGL.
• Capitalize product and process data for the commodity (SQ, Infosite, cost reports, etc.).
• Propose cost reduction opportunities in soft trim parts manufacturing processes.
• Challenge suppliers and stakeholders with sound technical and economic explanations.
• Visit suppliers, collect required costing information and identify cost reduction improvements.
• Support digital transformation of processes and operations.
• Develop new process improvements and solutions for upstream projects.
• Deliver costing work of good quality and on time (risk management).
• Communicate and interact with internal and external entities (communication management).
• Follow the methodology for performing different activities for different customers (change management).
• Give advance notice of availability and apply for leave in good time (workload and workforce management).
• Take part in training and skills development, and plan your career path.
