D&T Analyst I – Business Intelligence

Overview

Design, build and maintain Business Intelligence visualization and reporting solutions for General Mills' Digital and Technology team, working with business stakeholders across global business teams.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, maintain and launch new Business Intelligence visualization and reporting solutions using Tableau and Looker.
• Implement enterprise Business Intelligence standards, best practices and approved BI techniques.
• Work alongside peers to share best practices such as data prep tools, connected data approaches and data cataloguing.
• Develop, maintain and implement standard processes, tools and solutions to ensure best practices are followed in deliverables.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and work with peers to identify the best approach for data validation, metric definition and insight representation.
• Research and find technical solutions through technical community collaboration.
• Follow an Agile approach across design, development and stakeholder sign-off, working with Sprints, User Stories, Tasks, Epics and Features.
• Develop technical architectures and prototypes for dashboards in coordination with product teams.
• Participate in project phases including defining core requirements, effort estimation, root-cause analysis, solutioning, development and deployment.
• Apply domain and functional business acumen to deliver insights.
• Partner with technical teams to troubleshoot technical and performance issues in the big data ecosystem.
• Perform in-depth analysis to identify key business data elements and metrics that enable insights.
• Translate business challenges into impactful dashboard designs and technical builds.
• Partner with the product team and business stakeholders to understand project requirements and lead BI engagement, execution and delivery.
• Collaborate with teams across functions to set internal benchmarks, develop critical metrics for new initiatives and recommend best practices.
• Coordinate triage efforts, resolve user issues and drive system improvements.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (full time) in Business Analytics or a related subject area.
• 4+ years of total experience, with 3+ years of relevant experience working with business stakeholders and designing analytical solutions.
• Extensive experience creating interactive dashboards using Tableau (intermediate).
• Basic experience with other visualization tools such as Looker, Business Objects, Advanced Excel and SQL.
• Good communication skills, capable of translating business requests into technical requirements and articulating the pros and cons of different technologies, platforms, design and architectural options.
• Basic understanding of data and analytics tools and concepts, including ETL, reporting tools, data governance and data warehousing.
• Basic understanding of data extraction using Google BigQuery, SQL Server, SAP BW or SAP HANA.
