Data Engineer II

Overview

Data Engineer II role in Levi Strauss & Co’s Data & AI Platform Engineering organisation, leading a track within Supply Chain & Planning Data Domain.

What you'll do

• Deliver end-to-end track work from requirements analysis and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Build cloud-native batch and real-time data pipelines, models, transformations, and data products/dashboards.
• Develop event-driven and streaming data solutions using technologies such as Kafka and Google Pub/Sub.
• Establish data quality, governance, observability, and monitoring frameworks.
• Troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis to improve stability and performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship through design reviews, code reviews, and engineering best practices.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or related disciplines.
• Experience delivering large-scale data solutions.
• Expertise in SQL and Python for large-scale data processing and transformation.
• Hands-on experience with modern big data technologies such as Spark, Flink, Hive.
• Experience designing event-driven architectures and real-time data pipelines (e.g., Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, Spark Streaming).
• Experience working with one or more major cloud platforms.
• Experience with data transformation frameworks such as dbt, PySpark, or Dataflow.
