Design Principal, Engineering Development (Mechanical)

Overview

Design Principal responsible for mechanical design decisions for a portfolio of datacenter projects.

What you'll do

• Own and lead the design process for mechanical engineering across partners to deliver datacenters.
• Critically assess design decisions and apply Equinix standards and country-specific regulations.
• Support global Reference Design development and evaluate new products/engineering approaches.
• Manage relationships and output of design partners and equipment suppliers for assigned projects.
• Engage with key customers to determine evolving design requirements and direct Reference Design configurations.
• Manage design schedules and oversee delivery of design documentation for assigned projects.

What you'll need

• 7+ years’ experience in a Design MEP firm or in the design team of a mission critical building operator/subcontractor.
• OR 7+ years’ experience as an architectural lead in a mission critical architectural design practice.
• Advanced degree (Masters) in Mechanical Engineering preferred; (Bachelor’s degree acceptable).
• Experience and electrical code/regulation/law familiarity in AMER, EMEA and APAC regions.
• Spoken and written English proficiency is essential.
• Pan-global experience of local mechanical design/construction practice is highly desirable.
• Experience with design requirements of major customers is highly desirable.
