Overview
Director, Application Engineering leads architecture, engineering strategy, and delivery for enterprise-scale platforms supporting global post-trade operations.
What you'll do
- Define and drive technology strategy, target-state architecture, and engineering direction across application and data platforms.
- Provide technical leadership for distributed application, integration, and data platforms.
- Translate business priorities into executable technology roadmaps and lead modernization initiatives.
- Establish engineering standards for quality, resilience, security, operational excellence, and governance.
- Partner with stakeholders to evaluate trade-offs, manage dependencies, and maximize business outcomes.
- Develop senior engineering talent and foster accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled engineering capabilities and intelligent automation with appropriate risk controls.
What you'll need
- 12+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in enterprise-scale software engineering environments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Expertise in modern application architecture, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong technical depth in enterprise application development and data architecture, including performance optimization and best practices.
- Experience designing and operating large-scale application and data platforms using modern messaging, caching, and distributed processing.
- Experience defining technology strategy and leading complex multi-team initiatives while balancing modernization with delivery.
- Experience in leadership, communication, decision-making, risk management, reliability, security, and operational excellence.
Details
- Location: Mumbai, India.
- Hybrid work model: at least 4 days in the office per week, with flexibility to work from home 1 day a week.
- Some business groups may require more time in the office.
