Overview

Electrical Component Engineer in the Global Operations Group, leading alternate component strategies and component engineering decisions to ensure supply continuity and compliance.

What you'll do

• Lead alternate component identification across programs using Form, Fit, and Function (FFF) analysis and comparison reports.
• Provide technical leadership for component selection governance in design reviews (PDR, DDR, CDR).
• Own end-to-end COTS/OEM component selection and qualification for multiple electrical/electromechanical part categories.
• Perform technical analysis of subsystems, assemblies, and system-level architectures to propose scalable, manufacturable alternates.
• Define component engineering strategies to mitigate supply chain risks like single-source dependency, long lead times, and obsolescence.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure part qualification, validation, and production integration while presenting trade-offs and recommendations.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years, or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven technical leadership delivering scalable, high-impact solutions for complex engineering problems.
• Deep expertise in global component ecosystem and supplier landscape across OEM/BTP components.
• Advanced alternate component engineering expertise to independently drive decisions and best practices.
• Strong system-level FFF analysis capability for complex large-scale assemblies.
• In-depth understanding of component qualification, validation methodologies, and test standards.

• Work location model is described as hybrid: “On-site Flex” (3+ days/week on-site) or “Virtual Flex” (1–2 days/week on-site).
