Lead Engineer – Electrical Component

Overview

Lead Electrical Component Engineer for GE Vernova’s FACTS solution line, focused on MV equipment engineering for STATCOM/HVDC projects.

What you'll do

• Prepare and review MV equipment technical specifications, datasheets, and purchase requisitions.
• Evaluate vendor offers and perform technical bid analysis.
• Create and review layout/section drawings, including STATCOM yard and valve room layouts.
• Support equipment sizing and MV switchyard equipment specifications.
• Contribute to electrical clearances, insulation coordination, short-circuit forces, and thermal limits.
• Prepare BOQ generation using REVIT for STATCOM yard MV bays.
• Provide site pre-commissioning support and interface alignment between schematics and physical layout.

What you'll need

• 8–12 years of relevant experience in Substation/FACTS/HVDC projects.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience specifically in STATCOM/FACTS/HVDC projects.
• BTech/MTech degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably in Power System.
• Strong knowledge of MV systems and substation design and FACTS/STATCOM configurations.
• Knowledge of IGBT valve configuration and valve layout design.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD 3D tools (Revit preferred).
• Strong prioritization and time management skills.
