Engineer - Customer Project Engineering

Overview

Excitation Systems Engineer supporting the design, testing, and field support of excitation control systems for synchronous generators.

What you'll do

• Assist in preparing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications for excitation cubicles and generators.
• Review and modify control software logic (function blocks and ladder logic) with guidance from senior staff.
• Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) and assist with site commissioning, including field wiring checks and signal loop checks.
• Participate in technical discussions with customers and vendors.
• Maintain project technical files and update as-built documentation; assist in drafting client reports.
• Help troubleshoot minor control system issues by analyzing alarm logs and event records.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 1–2 years of professional experience in an electrical engineering role (internships and co-ops considered).
• Foundational knowledge of power systems and rotating machinery (synchronous generators).
• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD and EPLAN for electrical schematics.
• Basic understanding of control theory and feedback systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and logic flowcharts.
• Strong verbal and written communication plus high attention to detail.
