Overview
Engineer, Electrical (Healthcare) at REC, responsible for electrical engineering design delivery and technical support for healthcare projects in line with UK standards and project requirements.
What you’ll do
- Deliver electrical design packages for healthcare projects under senior engineers’ and project leads’ guidance.
- Prepare electrical load assessments, power distribution, lighting/emergency lighting, small power layouts, and earthing/bonding designs.
- Produce design calculations, engineering reports, specifications, drawings, and equipment schedules.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, public health, architecture, structural, and BIM) for multidisciplinary delivery and clash resolution.
- Support UK-specific compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and industry guidance for electrical services, emergency lighting, and fire alarm design.
- Work in BIM/digital delivery environments: review coordinated models/drawings and extract/verify design information from BIM models.
What you’ll need
- 4–7 years of relevant electrical building services/infrastructure design experience.
- Experience preparing technical documentation, reports, specifications, and calculations.
- Working knowledge of electrical design principles for building services/infrastructure.
- Familiarity with UK project stages and design deliverables.
- Proficiency-desirable with Revit/BIM tools and/or AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and written/verbal communication in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s advantageous).
