Engineer Gears & Shafts

Overview

Engineer responsible for BB components such as gears and shafts, including design, documentation, approvals, and technical evaluations across internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Design BB parts including gears, shafts, differentials, bearings, sealings, and minor parts.
• Collaborate with plants, suppliers, purchasing, and SQD via interfaces and simultaneous-engineering meetings.
• Create and maintain technical drawings, 3D models, and BOMs with internal/external data exchange.
• Maintain requirements and technical specifications, and manage change requests/orders in PLM.
• Run internal/externally performed calculations, including package investigations and tolerance calculations.
• Handle design deviations, process change requests, and coordinate interface topics across departments.
• Analyze failure mechanisms and present findings in internal committees and to external partners.

What you'll need

• 3-8 years of professional experience in the relevant field.
• Experience in design and development.
• Experience in manufacturing technologies for gears and shafts.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD, specifically Catia V5.
• Ability to perform calculations using KissSoft, Solid Thinking Inspire, and/or SMT Masta.
• Skills in collaborating with PLT/8D teams.
• Knowledge/skills: PLM and Catia V5; (OT listed as necessary).
