Lead Mechanical Engineer

Overview

Lead Mechanical Engineer responsible for designing and re-designing hardware components and developing new and on-market products, supporting manufacturing activities in R&D.

What you'll do

• Lead and manage sustaining engineering activities for Electro-Mechanical products.
• Design and develop mechanical solutions to improve performance, safety, reliability, throughput, and cost-effectiveness.
• Own design change leadership and handle the design change process independently.
• Own hardware development from concept to release, including design verification and risk mitigation.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production and field issues and validate designs through analysis and testing.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians and transfer knowledge.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field with 7+ years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software and simulation tools.
• Knowledge of teardown analysis and reverse engineering; dFMEA/pFMEA, DFX, tolerance stack-up analysis, and GD&T.
• Experience creating and maintaining detailed engineering documentation (CAD models, drawings, specifications, test plans).
• Experience with medical device regulations (FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601) and ensuring compliance.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical part fabrication and rapid prototyping methods.

• On-site role located in Bengaluru.
• Reports to the Engineering Manager and is part of the R&D Hardware/Systems Development team.
