Engineer - Power Electronics

Overview

Engineer for power electronics responsible for designing, simulating, developing, and validating high-power power electronic systems including converters and inverters.

What you'll do

• Design and develop high-power power electronic systems including DC-DC, AC-DC converters, and inverters.
• Design converter and inverter topologies for various applications.
• Select and evaluate power semiconductor devices, gate drivers, modulation techniques, and output filters.
• Perform simulation and analysis including steady-state and transient circuit analysis.
• Execute hardware development lifecycle from requirements through qualification and certification.
• Integrate power electronic subsystems into larger electrical/electronic systems and ensure safe operation.

What you'll need

• 3-5 years experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Power Electronics or related field.
• 2-4 years experience with a Master’s Degree in Power Electronics and Drives Engineering.
• Knowledge of inverter and converter design and AC-DC/DC-DC/inverter topologies.
• Experience with simulation tools including PSpice, LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, or PLECS.
• Ability to conduct worst-case/tolerance/stress analysis and FMEA.
• Knowledge of power semiconductors including Si, SiC, and GaN devices.
