Engineer, Staff – Customer Engineering, Power&Thermal

Overview

Lead customer-facing Power and Thermal software engineering across Snapdragon platforms and operating environments. The role covers system power management, low-power architecture, troubleshooting, characterization, and technical guidance through product launch.

What you'll do

• Lead troubleshooting of complex power and thermal software issues across Snapdragon platforms.
• Analyze power-management flows across HLOS, non-HLOS, hypervisor, and hardware components.
• Provide power and thermal design recommendations for customer applications and system architectures.
• Lead root-cause analysis, issue reproduction, log analysis, characterization, and corrective action planning.
• Perform power and thermal characterization for AI, multimedia, connectivity, and automotive workloads.
• Conduct technical training and mentor junior and early-career engineers.

What you'll need

• B.E./B.Tech with 8+ years, M.Tech/M.S. with 6+ years, or Ph.D. with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• 3+ years in a customer-facing technical role.
• 3+ years with C, C++, Python, or similar programming languages.
• 3+ years of embedded software debugging and system-level issue resolution.
• Strong knowledge of Linux or Android power-management fundamentals.
• Experience with embedded or real-time operating systems and suspend, resume, shutdown, wakeup, or low-power features.
• Experience analyzing logs, traces, performance data, and power or thermal measurements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snapdragon Power and Thermal software, hypervisors, virtualization, BSPs, device drivers, or ARM-based embedded SoCs.
• Experience with S2R, Dynamic Sleep, PCM, TrustZone, AOP, RPMh, or power-management firmware.
• Experience with JTAG, TRACE32, kernel tracing, performance monitoring, or power measurement tools.
