Lead Staff Engineer, SSD Firmware Test

Overview

Lead Staff Engineer focused on SSD firmware test development and team management within the storage domain.

What you'll do

• Manage a test development team in the storage domain.
• Develop and verify embedded SSD firmware.
• Use scripting languages, programming tools, and environments for test development.
• Apply AI-enabled workflows to accelerate firmware development (e.g., unit test generation and code review).
• Use AI agents/workflows for firmware debugging and root-cause analysis (RCA) with human-in-the-loop validation.
• Identify and scope opportunities for AI-driven automation in embedded firmware tasks (e.g., defect analysis and test coverage improvement).

What you'll need

• 8 to 12 years of experience managing a test development team in storage.
• In-depth expertise in embedded firmware development.
• Experience programming in Python.
• Understanding of storage interfaces including PCIe/NVMe, SATA, or SAS.
• Experience with NAND flash and other non-volatile storage.
• Experience with team leadership and/or supervising junior engineers and technicians.
