Overview

Engineer – Structures USA to design and analyze highway and road/rail bridge structures and related civil/utility works, collaborating with leads and reviewers across projects.

What you'll do

• Work on highway structures and road bridge design using structural analysis and design tools.
• Apply structural analysis and design concepts for standard designs for highways, railways, and related works.
• Coordinate with project leads and reviewers, seeking feedback and delivering value throughout the project lifecycle.
• Verify and self-check design submittals and collaborate with senior staff as needed.
• Prepare design reports, check drawings, and compute quantities and reinforcement schedules.
• Support project leads with programme timelines, budgets, and health & safety requirements.
• Develop working relationships with other disciplines and senior colleagues across regions as needed.

What you'll need

• 5 years of relevant experience in designing highway and rail bridges and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Post-graduation in Civil/Structure Engineering.
• Knowledge of US design standards including AASHTO/ACI, LRFD, DMRB, and British/Euro codes.
• Understanding of prestressed and steel composite bridges for vehicular, pedestrian, and utility bridges.
• Experience using analysis methods including FEA, grillage models, line diagrams, and basic geometry formation.
• Ability to validate results through alternative means using basic engineering principles.
• Must have fair knowledge of BIM process and common data environment (CDE) application.
