Engineering Manager, Singpass

Overview

Engineering Manager role for the Singpass and GovTech Data Platform teams, responsible for setting technical direction, driving delivery excellence, and ensuring scalable, secure, reliable engineering outcomes.

What you'll do

• Lead design and architecture reviews to ensure scalable, secure delivery.
• Set the squad’s technical and delivery goals in collaboration with Product and Design.
• Balance new feature delivery with sustainability, maintainability, and risk mitigation.
• Drive delivery excellence using operational metrics, incident trends, and DataOps signals.
• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing, psychologically safe engineering team.
• Set standards for system design, code quality, and software engineering practices; mentor engineers.
• Improve developer experience (DevX) and reduce delivery friction through tools and processes.

What you'll need

• Deep expertise in event-driven architectures and scalable event/stream processing.
• Ability to model complex event flows for fraud detection, product insights, and real-time capabilities.
• Experience providing technical leadership and mentorship through guidance and best practices.
• Ability to support architecture discussions and unblock delivery to earn team trust.
• Capability to drive alignment across engineering, product, and stakeholders via communication and influence.
• Experience staying close to technical details through reviews and hands-on support when needed.
• Knowledge of how software systems and engineering practices scale across testing, observability, or infrastructure.
