Expert Engineer

Overview

Senior Scale-Up technical leadership role in Bioenergy & Hydrogen Technology, focused on thermodynamics and physical properties.

What you'll do

• Lead safe, compliant operations and contribute to HSSE and psychological safety culture.
• Drive process design, development, and modelling that support programme outcomes.
• Peer review other programmes and communicate results to diverse customers.
• Represent bp in international consortia and joint industry projects to steer research.
• Develop and manage the company’s physical property data capabilities.
• Advise internal teams on high-impact thermodynamics and physical properties challenges.

What you'll need

• PhD in thermodynamics modelling, thermal/transport property measurement, or related fields.
• Equivalent experience, likely minimum 12 years of professional experience.
• Experience scaling new process technologies from experiments to pilot/demonstration scale.
• Deep understanding of risk analysis (technical and business) and techno-economic modelling.
• Applied thermodynamics modelling experience with ASPEN+ or similar tools.
• Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills.

• Based in Bengaluru office, India (hybrid office/remote working).
• Travel up to 25% (also mentions up to 10% travel should be expected).
