Field Service Engineer

Overview

Field Service Engineer to lead on-site commissioning, diagnostics, maintenance, and lifecycle support for automated cutting systems across the United States.

What you'll do

• Perform electromechanical, electronic, and pneumatic diagnostics on automated CNC cutting machines and plasma units.
• Lead turnkey installation and commissioning, including machine alignment, I/O verification, parameter configuration, and test cutting.
• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance activities to support operational reliability.
• Diagnose and interface with CNC controllers, PLC logic, industrial fieldbuses, and safety interlocks.
• Deliver technical training to customer maintenance technicians, CNC programmers, and operators.
• Write detailed Field Service Reports documenting failures, root causes, and corrective actions.

What you'll need

• Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical training.
• 2–5+ years of hands-on industrial field service or automated manufacturing systems experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and mechanical blueprints.
• Demonstrated commitment to industrial safety standards including OSHA compliance and Lockout/Tagout.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and work in plant environments.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License with eligibility to obtain a U.S. Passport.

• Work mode: Remote (service work described for customer facilities across the U.S.).
• Travel scope: 100% regional/domestic travel to customer facilities.
