Field Service Engineer (FIELD REMOTE- Chicago, IL)

Overview

Field Service Engineer providing on-site installation, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex scientific equipment and systems, with remote field work supporting customers in the Chicago, IL area.

What you'll do

• Install and maintain PerkinElmer and/or multivendor instrumentation at customer sites.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and qualify complex equipment and systems.
• Instruct customers on system operation and maintenance.
• Communicate service offerings, including training, support, software, laboratory services, and field upgrades.
• Upload and download required service data to maintain service system integrity.
• Maintain assigned assets, including tools, test equipment, and service parts inventory.
• Complete administrative tasks such as time reporting and assigned training.

What you'll need

• Meet one of: Bachelor Degree plus 2 years, Associate Degree plus 4 years, or High School Diploma plus 10 years of direct lab equipment repair experience.
• Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Technical problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• MS Office skills including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and understand technical bulletins and service manuals.
• Ability to work safely with potential electrical, chemical, radiologic, and biologic hazards using universal precautions.

• Location: US Remote - IL; remote field work servicing the Chicago, IL area.
• Work setting includes laboratory and controlled environments requiring PPE.
