Installation Specialist - Pittsburgh, PA

Overview

The Installation Specialist prepares restaurant sites for POS deployments and executes virtual or onsite installations. The role also troubleshoots escalated infrastructure issues, trains clients and staff, and supports process improvements.

What you'll do

• Conduct virtual site surveys covering wiring, electrical systems, networking, and internet performance.
• Install and configure POS hardware, including workstations, printers, pin pads, cash drawers, switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Complete cabling, patching, connectivity setup, and site readiness checks.
• Deliver onsite staff training and live installation support.
• Troubleshoot escalated network and infrastructure issues using advanced diagnostics.
• Collaborate with project managers, technicians, engineering, clients, and vendors.
• Improve survey tools, templates, processes, and standard operating procedures.

What you'll need

• 2–3 years of restaurant and/or technical support experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Deep knowledge of networking infrastructure, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and low-voltage cabling.
• Experience with restaurant POS systems and multi-terminal deployments.
• Experience resolving escalated technical issues and conducting at least 50 POS installations or comparable deployments.
• Ability to manage complex multi-site projects independently and mentor junior team members.
• Fluent written and verbal English.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech or SaaS environments.
• Associate degree in a listed technical, business, hospitality, or related field.

Details

• Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
• Travel: Up to 50–75%, including local and out-of-state travel with overnight stays as needed.
• Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour.
