Java Lead Engineer – Vice President, Software Engineering

Overview

Java Lead Engineer position at Vice President level for the Finance Operations & Risk Tech team, focused on managing, developing, and designing Java applications.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain Java-based applications.
• Design and own complete development on a new platform using established best practices.
• Support requirement analysis, design, and development end-to-end.
• Help the team continuously improve agile development practices.
• Adhere to group standards and focus on Gen AI adoption, usability, cloud adoption, and user experience.
• Coordinate development across multiple internal/external groups, including offshore teams.

What you'll need

• At least 10 years of hands-on Java EE and core Java experience.
• Experience in web service development using REST and Kafka, with SOA.
• Expertise in object-oriented design, design patterns, architecture, and application integration.
• Working knowledge of databases with SQL proficiency.
• Experience or awareness of Gen AI agentic tools or other Gen AI tooling.
• Strong experience with Spring and automated testing tools like JUnit and BDD.
• Experience with Unix/Linux and ability to translate technical design into workable solutions.
