Junior Web Developer

Overview

Junior Web Developer for Thomson Reuters Foundation’s Product & Technology team, focused initially on WordPress development for public-facing websites and content platforms.

What you'll do

• Develop, maintain, and improve WordPress websites (Gutenberg themes, templates, blocks, and content features).
• Implement web features, resolve bugs, test changes, and contribute to regular releases.
• Write clean, maintainable HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP following coding standards and security practices.
• Translate design and product/stakeholder requirements into technical implementations.
• Support front-end development with JavaScript and optionally modern frameworks such as React.
• Work with databases and structured content, including SQL-based systems used by WordPress and related platforms.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Some PHP and WordPress development experience, or strong ability to learn quickly.
• Basic understanding of version control systems, particularly Git.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and core web application concepts.

Details

• Work mode: Hybrid; 2-3 days work from office every week.
• Shift timing: 10am IST to 7pm IST.
