Lead Application Engineer I

Overview

Lead presales engineering for fire protection and suppression system opportunities across transportation, data center, commercial, industrial, fit-out, and key account projects. Own techno-commercial solutions and support the handover process for delivery and operations approval.

What you'll do

• Review project inputs and initiate project kick-offs with the front desk.
• Prepare designs from floor plans and develop bills of quantity.
• Identify project risks and support mitigation with customers.
• Coordinate with OEMs and subcontractors to obtain solutions and proposals.
• Analyze vendor proposals and benchmark project costs.
• Prepare optimized costing sheets, proposals, and compliance statements.
• Complete quality checks, SFDC updates, timesheets, training, and business cadence activities.

What you'll need

• BE in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant fire protection and suppression systems experience.
• Strong knowledge of sprinkler, hydrant, water spray, foam, water mist, and gas suppression systems.
• Presales and estimation experience across multiple project verticals.
• Ability to perform hydraulic and flow calculations and product selections.
• Ability to prepare complex costing sheets and technical proposal documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience designing systems to NFPA, BSEN, VdS, TAC, and NBC norms.
• Experience with SprinkCAD, Fire-CAD, ANSUL, HYGOOD, AutoCAD, Navis, or Excel.
• Building Management System knowledge.
• Experience coordinating design approvals with consultants and clients.
