Overview
Support Landing Gear Product Design, Sustaining Engineering, Engineering Changes, Test Fixture and Tooling Design, and Engineering Drawing creation and release. Apply mechanical engineering fundamentals and aerospace design practices to support Landing Gear components across production and in-service programs.
What you'll do
- Execute assigned mechanical design activities using CATIA V5, including 3D modelling, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
- Support engineering changes, sustaining activities, product improvements, and drawing updates/releases.
- Support design of test fixtures, manufacturing tooling, and ground support equipment.
- Interpret engineering requirements, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Apply GD&T, tolerance principles, and engineering standards; support tolerance stack-up activities.
- Collaborate with Design, Stress, Materials, Manufacturing, Quality, and In-Service Engineering teams to resolve design, manufacturing, and in-service issues.
- Deliver assigned work with required quality, accuracy, and schedule adherence.
- Follow applicable quality, Global Trade, export control, product safety, and aerospace requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement activities while developing Landing Gear product knowledge.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- 4–6 years of relevant mechanical design experience.
- Good understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, materials, manufacturing processes, and special processes.
- Good engineering drawing interpretation and 3D visualization skills.
- Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
- Understanding of DFMA and DFC principles.
- Basic understanding of structural analysis and ability to interpret stress analysis inputs.
- Hands-on CATIA V5 experience in part/assembly modelling and drawing creation.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage assigned priorities and meet schedules.
- Willingness to learn and develop Landing Gear product and design expertise.
- Demonstrates ownership, engineering quality, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Nice to have
- Teamcenter/PLM exposure.
- Exposure to metallic component design, particularly machined or fabricated components.
- Exposure to sustaining engineering, engineering changes, or product modifications.
- Knowledge of Aircraft Landing Gear components and functionality.
