Lead Engineer, Software

Overview

Lead software engineering role focused on avionics systems, software development, verification, integration, and certification compliance for small projects.

What you'll do

• Develop assigned software projects and modules with limited oversight.
• Manage requirements, reliability, team coordination, and evaluation activities.
• Support work-process optimization and risk management for small projects.
• Apply C++, C, Python, or scripting languages.
• Ensure compliance with DO-178B/C certification standards.
• Support SOI submissions, reviews, and audits with certification authorities.

What you'll need

• Hold a B.Tech or M.Tech.
• Understand avionics systems and software architecture.
• Have experience across the SDLC, including requirements, design, coding, integration, and verification.
• Know C++, C, or Python.
• Have exposure to DO-178B/C.
• Experience with development, V&V, SCA, debugging, and unit, integration, and verification testing.
• Experience with software-software and hardware-software integration and debugging.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with VectorCast, PyATE, RapiTest, Git, or Subversion.
• 3-5 years of avionics experience.
• Experience with Agile methodology.
• Knowledge of ARINC protocols and data link applications.
• Knowledge of DO-258A and ED-110B.
• Exposure to DevSecOps, cybersecurity, networking, or ACDE pipeline tools.
