Lead Quantitative Engineer

Overview

Lead Quantitative Engineer to lead strategy technology teams in India and build quantitative trading strategies for Indian and other APAC markets.

What you'll do

• Design and implement quantitative trading systems, including C++ auto-traders and trader/research tooling.
• Lead a team by mentoring and guiding high-performance engineers.
• Partner with trading and research to improve trading systems.
• Drive engineering practices such as code reviews, testing, and production monitoring for robustness and quality.
• Collaborate across global teams to share knowledge and influence broader system design.
• Contribute to the strategy and vision for Optiver’s Asia Pacific systematic trading capability.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience as a Quantitative Engineer working with traders and researchers.
• Experience making architectural decisions for quantitative trading systems.
• Ability to solve technically challenging trading problems with a pragmatic, results-driven mindset.
• Experience applying machine learning techniques to trading.
• Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with trading, research, and other teams.
• Experience leading projects as a technical owner and driving delivery/design decisions.

Details

• Location: Mumbai, India.
• Systems will be deployed across NSE, BSE, and MCX, plus other APAC exchanges.
