Lead Software Engineer - Java

Overview

Lead Software Engineer - Java role at Boeing India for work in Bangalore, supporting delivery of product commitments and MVP milestones while providing technical leadership.

What you'll do

• Develop code and integrate complex software components into functional systems.
• Provide technical leadership and act as a subject matter expert for software domains and system issues.
• Track and evaluate software team conformance to project plans and industry standards.
• Estimate user stories/features and tasks for Sprint Planning and help with backlog refinement.
• Work with the Product Owner to ensure code and acceptance tests reflect desired functionality.
• Raise and communicate impediments/risks and update daily task status and remaining efforts.
• Deliver working software aligned to Team PI objectives and iteration plans, including design for testability and test automation.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/related fields (including non-US equivalents).
• 12+ years of software development experience (typical education & experience stated).
• Java 8+ (Core and Advanced) with Spring Boot 3.x.
• Angular 12 plus HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React JS.
• Hands-on experience with message brokers; Kafka or RabbitMQ is mandatory.
• Experience with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure.
• Unit and integration testing using tools like Jest; familiarity with Git.

Nice to have

• Knowledge/experience of SAFe projects and processes.
• Experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD, configuration management, monitoring) using Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Aviation industry and familiarity with Java software development for issue analysis.
• Scripting experience with JavaScript and/or Python.
