Lead, Software Engineering

Overview

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality cloud-based applications for S&P Global's Private Valuations and Assessments solutions. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders across global locations.

What you'll do

• Contribute to system architecture and design discussions.
• Analyse requirements and design, implement, and test features.
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Participate in agile development across all SDLC phases.
• Work with QA and business teams to identify issues and risks.
• Coordinate functional and system testing with QA/QC teams.
• Maintain and support application areas.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of strong technical and platform experience.
• Strong Java experience.
• At least 5 years developing commercial web applications or externally used services.
• Understanding of agile development and software engineering principles.
• Experience with cloud development, preferably AWS.
• Excellent design, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a numerate field.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Lambda and serverless architecture.
• Experience with SQL, Linux, Docker, Scala, Angular 18+, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Spring.
• Experience with continuous integration, Git, GitLab/GitHub, or configuration languages.
• Knowledge of private market valuations or the financial sector.
